People, Places and Stuff what we like...

The list below provides info and links to the people who have helped us, the places we've liked and the gear we've found useful

Deacons - Force4 Chandlery

The shop manager (Pip Johnstone) at Deacons Force4 was always a font of knowledge and happy to help/recomend/take our money! We were in and out of his shop more often than most of his staff! Whatever he didn't stock he was quick to get on order and never let us down on deliveries. Give him a call or pop in.

John Rodriguez Yacht Brokers

Pete bought Rafiki in September 2013 via John Rodriguez who was an all round nice bloke and a seasoned world cruiser. He was informative, inpartial and a pleasure to do business with. He still owes us a day in the boozer...

El De Alberto

When stuck in Coruña we found this Spanish restaurant via TripAdvisor and couldn't believe just how good and cheap the food was. Ruben served us throughout the night, made brilliant recommendations and dished out the free shots at the end of the meal. If you ever find yourself in La Coruña you have to get in to this place.

El De Alberto

Jambe De Bois, Pigeon Point, St Lucia

Cracking little restaurant on Pigeon Point. Doesn't open Mondays and is only small but the food is great and the view at Sunset across Rodney Bay is brilliant. Reasonably priced, local, quality food.

Maries Beach Shack, Reduit Beach, St Lucia

MUST SEE. Marie's Beach Shack was our most visited spot in St Lucia. Great local caught fish dishes and ridiculously strong rum punch. The shack is located at the Southern end of the beach and is run by Marie. Marie is a (mostly) toothless lady that runs about with a Machette being rude to her customers - you can't help but love her for it!

Anchorage Yacht Club and Hotel, Union Island

Located in the most popoular anchorage on Union Island the Anchorage Hotel is hard to avoid. It's a great spot that welcomes cruising sailors with fuel, water, laundry, good WiFi, great food and a decent dinghy dock. They hold regular BBQ nights with a local steel band provinding the entertainment. The place is now run by Nat, an Italian guy with oodles of pesonality - ask for him, He'll look after you and ensure you have a good stay on Union Island.

Cloggys Bar, Falmouth Harbour, Antigua

On the first floor of the Marina development this restaurant and bar is run by a Dutch guy and his Aussie wife. Great food and booze and a top spot to sit and admire the super yachts/watch the world go by. We had a couple of very good meals here and watched the England Vs Ireland six nations game along with a huge number of ex-pats/cruising sailors. If you're unlucky/lucky you may meet a fine Northern Irish man named John. He'll fill your evening with entertaining stories and bullsh!t in equal measure (Just don't challenge him to a drinking competition...)

Seacat Tours and Moorings, Roseau, Dominica

Seacat is a local Legend in Roseau. Chris Doyle reccomends him highly and so do we. He owns a few moorings in Roseau Harbour and runs a number of tours around Dominica. He's well informed, well experienced, well connected and great fun. After staying on one of his moorings and visiting waterfalls, completing a couple of hikes and taking in some other sights he became a Caribbean highlight to us. When arriving in Roseau, get him on Channel 16 (anytime of day or night) - he'll sort the rest from there.

Zam Zam Cafe, Roseau, Dominica

Zam Zam is a brilliant Mexican restaurant run by a Mexican lady and a Yorkshire Man... Food was brilliant and the setting and feel of the place was amazing. We were lucky enough to be there for their post Carnival Reggae night and it was one of the best nights we had in the Caribbean.

Trapas Restaurant, Falmouth/English Harbour, Antigua

Another great spot on the walk from Falmouth Harbour to English Harbour. Probably the best food we ate in Antigua.
