Tobago Cays
On Sunday the 18th of Jan we did a small gentle sail from mustique to the lovely Tobago cays for some chill out non-party time. We were all very surprised on arrival to Tobago Cays how many boats were there. We had expected it to be very quiet and not half as packed as it was. Anyway we were picked up on arrival by a turtle, mantra ray and lastly a taxi boat who kindly guided us to an excellent mooring bouy about 20 metres from the protected turtle area. I was in heaven!

Within minutes of parking up, all of us pretty much had our snorkels and fins on and were off to see what we could find in the crystal clear waters. Besides the turtles and plenty of beautiful coloured fish, we saw possibly the biggest star fish I've ever seen. They were bigger than Adams head including his beard!
Starfish bigger than Adam's beard...
There's not much to do in the cays apart from snorkeling , chilling out and eating at the beach BBQ set up by the locals for 90 ec ( which included half a delish lobster, full sides and desert...aka local fruits.) The bbq area is set up very casually and pretty with lights, candles and wooden picnic benches. Oh they threw in a bottle of white vino too. I would recommend the bbq , it was delish and good value also there are no shops so you maybe have to eat there or go hungry.
Kate, Adam and damo went diving one morning. They had a lovely time. I wasn't there so I can't expand on anything about it, sorry! They did say the lads were very good and the gear was perfect. Kate particularly found the lads charming! While they were away myself, Pete and james brought the dingy around to the reef just off the cays on the atlantic coast. There are dingy mooring bouys. The reef is beautiful ,well that's what we were told. Unfortunately the three of us couldn't beat the current to actually get to the reef. We saw it in the distance and from there it looked good. Shame that we aren't stronger swimmers really! We spent three nights in Tobago Cays which we all felt was enough time before getting itchy feet. From there we had a two hour sail to Union Island.
