Days 11 - 21 in the Pacific Ocean
Week two and three in the pacific ocean and there's not a huge amount to report really. The wind has picked up, thank god but sadly so has the swell so we're bouncing around a good bit. We've pointed the boat west and the sails haven't really been touched at all which is great. My kind of sailing!
So our days consist of eating, reading, doing the times crosswords, watching our tablets and when the lads decide to chat, we have a small chat but never a big one, god forbid!
We have had a few visitors bum a lift with us. Their favorite place being at the front of the boat. They've entertained us with their fishing and fighting amongst themselves for the best position at the bow. We've tried to figure out what types of birds they are but none of us are David Attenborough. Anyway they've left a terrible mess for us at the bow. I was greatly surprised as they the lads said that they would gladly deal with it and that a lady should not be exposed to such a mess. The three of them are good fellas really!
We've seen pods of dolphins, some whales and Adam thinks he saw a shark. Remember though, he does wear glasses and has a tendency to exaggerate things so it was probably a small fish. I guess anything to make the day more interesting.
I caught my first fish ever the other day. I was very surprised at how strong it was but after finally reeling it in, I understood why...it was a massive dorado. The biggest we've caught to date. It was too big to keep and for us four to eat so we released it again.
Damo has continued to cook stuff in the oven but you'll be glad to hear it's all been edible, delish and we've all had happy faces with full bellies. Skipper Pete has turned into the biggest book worm ever, its like he's in a read-athon. Adam continues to stare out at the ocean looking for sharks and the likes! Damo and Pete decided to follow Adam with the facial hair trend. Pete gave up after a week but Damo has persisted on. There's a lot of ginge going on even though he's so silver on top!
Nothing more to report for now. May the winds be with us and hurry us up please!
